Burgers are one of the most popular, satisfying, loved foods in America. There are so many different restaurants that specialize in making burgers, so why try them all when you can follow an expert's opinion? I tried all the popular burger places from chain restaurants, to small, local ones that are only in Peoria. By getting the same burger at each restaurant, it was easy to narrow down which one was the best. I decided it was time to help you all out, and potentially give you a new obsession.
The first burger place I visited was In-N-Out, in Dallas, Texas. Everyone knows this place is apparently “the best,” so I had to give it a try. I ordered my classic “bacon cheeseburger”, with bacon, cheese, ketchup, and mayo. Right away they said, “Sorry we don’t have any bacon.” Just by hearing that a hyped up burger place didn’t have bacon, I was shocked. I then just asked for the same thing, but without the bacon. I ate it, and it was fine. However, it was definitely not what it was hyped up to be. In-N-Out, get bacon, and you will run an even better business! I give In-N-Out a 6/10.
The next place I tried was Whataburger, in Dallas, Texas. Once again, I had heard great things about this place, so I need to try it. I asked for a “bacon cheeseburger” and they had everything (unlike In-N-Out), which was a good sign. I ate it and it was amazing. The bread, the meat, the bacon, the cheese, etc. was perfect. My favorite part about Whataburger is the size of the burger...it’s huge. You certainly get your money’s worth at this place, and it is definitely worth it! Whattaburger, I give you a 9/10. This is only because there could have been a thicker, more melted slice of cheese on the burger. This place was close to a 10/10!
The last place I visited was a place in Peoria, Illinois, Five Guys. I got the “bacon cheeseburger”, and it was the best burger I’ve ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly, the cheese was thick and melted enough, and the bacon was just the right amount of crispy. This place was my favorite, because you get your money’s worth, and the workers are always energetic and friendly...they even put extra fries in your bag if you’re nice back! Five Guys, I give you a 10/10, keep up the great work.
These burger places were definitely worth the visit. I had fun experimenting with trying out different restaurants to broaden my horizons and taste. Overall, I would definitely recommend Five Guys first, then Whataburger, then In-N-Out, if you don’t mind that they do not have bacon! From this experience, I learned that Five Guys and Whataburger are my new favorite restaurants, and I hope that you all will be willing to experience these places yourself.
